For too long in Olympia School District, I’ve felt like we’ve been handed false choices and told everything is a crisis. I’ve watched fear and doom used to keep control, while families and staff were left feeling ignored.



I believe Britney Johnson is here to change that. I’ve seen how much she cares about this community and how committed she is to doing things differently. She believes our schools belong to everyone, not just a few people in charge. She knows what it feels like to be dismissed by this district, and she’s not afraid to stand up and ask hard questions.



I admire that Britney chose Olympia after looking at communities all over the country. She believes in what our district has been, and what our district can be at its best. I trust that she’ll bring people together, lead with transparency, and help rebuild trust. I know she’ll be a leader for all students, making sure every kid feels supported and has a real chance to succeed.



Britney brings hope instead of fear and collaboration instead of control. She has the courage to challenge the old ways and the heart to do it with respect.

Britney will bring a compassionate and pragmatic approach to issues facing our community. She will be vigilant in gathering facts and understanding process, while considering the impact of choices on students, families, teachers, and staff.

I met Britney a year and a half ago when she fostered cats for my program, Oly Camp Kitties, later adopting two cats for her family. As I’ve watched her navigate this School Board campaign I’ve been impressed by her energy, positivity, and out of the box thinking. The current board is extremely dysfunctional and our community needs fresh, new voices that can listen and bring us back together. I have full faith that a Cat Lady in Pink can do that.

I met Britney through our kids’ school McKenny elementary. We worked to revitalize our neglected garden. She was a pleasure to work with. I know she is an honest person who is not involved in local politics. She supports all kids of all backgrounds. She believes in efficiency and values people’s time. Cute story she told me about potty training her kids to reward them: she lifted the lid off the toilet so they could see how it functions as they flushed it.

My wife and I saw you provide comments at the McKenny open house last year and were energized by your conviction. My wife and I are long time Olympia locals.
